Uber is in the process of fixing a slew of security bugs disclosed by security firm Integrity, who discovered and reported 14 issues it found on the company's websites and mobile applications.
The security firm only published details about six of these bugs, as they're waiting on Uber to patch four more.
The first issue they discovered had the potential to launch brute-force attacks against Uber's promo code feature panel coming from Uber drivers themselves.
Researchers discover 1,000 active promo codes
The researchers found over 1,000 active promo codes by trying countless random promo code combinations and even discovered a ERH (Emergency Ride Home) code that would have added £'s to each driver's fair earnings.
The second issue they discovered allowed researchers/drivers to extract user details via the mobile app's Help section, which, in turn, enabled them to get the victim's email address.
The third bug manifested with UberPool where users share the fare. Researchers said they were able to get the driver and invitee's UUID and then request private information like names, pictures, location, status, rating, phone numbers, and more.
Security firm discovers a method for adding rogue Uber drivers
The fourth problem was in the Uber app's driver activation process. In order for drivers to access a specific area of the Uber app reserved for them, they need to ask the company to activate their account. Researchers discovered that, by toggling the "isActivated" parameter to "true," they could add rogue drivers to the service.
A fifth issue allowed researchers to access a driver's waybill section, from where they had access to the driver's name, license plate, car model, last ride history, and much more. Researchers did not publicly disclose all details about this bug because it also allowed them to list the full path of the driver's previous trip.
The sixth issue is derived from the third. Once the researchers got their hands on a user UUID, they were able to get information about that person's trips, in great detail, enough to plot out a map.

Important safety notice: Vauxhall Zafira B vehicles yet to adhere to the Vauxhall safety recall to be suspended with immediate effect
On 3 May we wrote to all registered keepers of Vauxhall Zafira B vehicles that are licensed as private hire vehicles, urging them to comply with the safety recall notices issued by Vauxhall Motor Company. The recall notices are related to unauthorised repairs to the heater fan motor in the model B version of Vauxhall Zafira models.
Of around 5,500 Vauxhall Zafira B vehicles licensed as private hire vehicles in London, over 4,000 vehicle owners have responded by visiting a Vauxhall dealership for this free, vital safety check. However, as of 16 June, approximately 1,250 vehicle owners have yet to do so, despite letters being sent from Vauxhall and Transport for London (TfL) reminding them that this important inspection needs to be carried out.
Recent reports of fire related incidents involving this model of vehicle have heightened the risks posed to passengers. This notice therefore sets out our intention to immediately suspend the vehicle licences of the all the Vauxhall Zafira B vehicles licensed for use as a private hire vehicle in London that have not yet been taken to a Vauxhall dealership for a safety check.
These vehicles must not be used for private hire purposes until these checks have been carried out and the licence suspension has been lifted.
We have written to the registered keepers of these remaining vehicles to advise them of the decision to suspend their vehicle from operating as a private hire vehicle. Once we are satisfied the remedial works have been conducted at an authorised Vauxhall dealership, we will contact the vehicle owner to make arrangements to remove the suspension.
While we have not taken this decision lightly, it has been made with the safety of the travelling public in mind.
Vauxhall Motor Company has advised us that vehicles can still be used for domestic purposes.

Sohail Masood, 34, put on a yellow high-vis jacket with 'Book a Cab Here' on the back and approached people at a train station, ahead of waiting black cab drivers.
Masood, who owns Northants-based Starline Cabs, was found guilty of soliciting people for private vehicle hire.
Masood insisted that he did not approach anyone and only booked taxis for customers who approached him - as the council had told him he could legally do.
Prosecutor Matthew Knight said: "You wore a high visibility jacket that said, book your cab here', which means that your actions were enticing people to come to you and book their minicab with your company."
Mason was convicted of Touting and was ordered to pay £150 costs.
Question for TfL:
If it's illegal to take bookings by advertise a PH company a HiVis jacket, then why do your Compliance Officers calmly walk by the sandwich board men in Shoreditch and Islington?
While we are on the subject of touting let's go back to earlier this years when a contingent from TfL which included the CEO of surface transport, the General Manager of LTPH and a senior compliance officer, went out on a walkabout with members of Taxi trade orgs and the BBC's Eddie Nestor.
Live on air, this group were openly touted in the middle of Soho and details were taken.....We have since heard all charges have been dropped because Eddie Nestor refused to make a statement. That's right, it's all down to Eddie Nestor!
What message is this sending out to WestEnd touts?
Ismail Emin, a Chelmsford resident, had been granted the licences by Uttlesford District Council for his business, West End Cars, in October 2015.
Emin listed the business address as a unit in Ongar Road, Great Dunmow, and he provided a letter from the landlord confirming he was a tenant at the address.
However, the council said it had received complaints that West End Cars vehicles were driving around Chelmsford with a Chelmsford telephone number on the side of their vehicles.
A member of Uttlesford's enforcement team carried out two visits to the Dunmow address to check the record of bookings, but found no signage or any indication of the firm's presence.
Neighbours also had no knowledge of a taxi business operating from that address.
At a meeting of Uttlesford’s Licensing and Environmental Health Committee last month (23 May), Emin failed to provide any supporting evidence that the business or the taxis were based in Uttlesford.
Cllr Robert Chambers, chairman of the Licensing and Environmental Health Committee, said: "The reason why someone from outside the area would seek a license in Uttlesford is quite clear - Uttlesford has one of the lowest fee structures in the country, and almost certainly in Essex.
"It is the policy of the council not to licence any hackney carriage which will not be predominantly used within Uttlesford. To reinforce this it is the practice of the Council to seek a declaration from the applicant that the vehicle will be predominantly used within the district. In this instance, Mr Emin's declaration was false. There was no evidence to show that he has run his business within the district, or that any of the hackney carriage vehicles are working here."
The council said its policy was based on a 2009 High Court case in which the judge said that, when considering applications for licences, councils must have regard to whether the vehicles will be used to ply for hire in the council's district or whether they will be used predominantly outside of the district. In the latter event the council should refuse to grant a licence.
Cllr Chambers said: "I hope this case sends a strong message to those who fail to meet the licensing conditions that this will not be tolerated and that the council will not hesitate to take the appropriate action."
EDITORIAL COMMENT:
It's been alleged that Uber cars licensed in London by TfL have been working in towns and cities outside their licences area.
Bristol TAXI drivers claim the rise of online firm Uber, is putting the trade at risk and are now threatening to bring the streets of Bristol to a standstill with a massive demonstration.
There are important regulatory changes that private hire operators, drivers and registered keepers of private hire vehicles are required to make over the coming weeks and months.
These changes, which were approved by the Transport for London (TfL) board on 18 March 2016, are being made to raise standards in London’s private hire industry - improving safety and convenience for customers.
The majority of the changes to the regulations will come into effect on Monday 27 June 2016 for new private hire licence applicants. However, existing licensees have been given more time to prepare for some of the more significant changes. It is vital that you prepare now.
Please take the time to read the information in our notice – and the more detailed information at http://ift.tt/1WSAprX - carefully.
One of the first changes, which comes into effect for existing licensees on 11 July, requires all private hire vehicles in London to have hire and reward insurance in place both at the point they are licensed and for the entire time the vehicle is licensed - including when the vehicle is not in use as a private hire vehicle. Details of that insurance must be carried or displayed in the private hire vehicle at all times while the vehicle is licensed as a private hire vehicle.
Licensing action will be taken in cases where licensees are found not to be compliant with regulations.
I will also be writing to you separately, by post, to advise you of these changes.
Yours sincerely,
Helen Chapman

Extra Comment from Tom Scullion:
At first glance the long awaiting changes to the private hire regulations look encouraging.
The salient points in brief:
As from 27 June all new applicants or renewal must have hire and reward insurance in their cars at all times
From 1 October existing will have to comply I don't understand why the existing drivers have this grace period maybe a legal notice period.
English language requirement for all new driver applicants by 1 October 2016 to B1 level standard
National insurance details by 1 October 2016
Private hire operators new operators must provide a booking confirmation to the passenger before their journey starts via email, SMS and MMS and text.
With the vehicle registration
Drivers first name
Drivers PHV number
Photo of driver
Provision of contact facilities
This require new operators to have a call centre 24/7 or the operating times of business this is to allow customers to telephone a call centre and speak with an operator in a London based operating centre to resolve passengers queries, complaints, lost property etc. serious and urgent issues should be reported to the police. A SME call centre would have at least 40 operators per shift at any given time
or shift for larger companies with much more customers the number of call takers could run into the hundreds per shift.
Changes to private hire operating model
Any changes to the operating model must be reported to Tfl.
Basic disclosure check for some staff
If staff who have face to face contact it's the public in a mini van office for example must have proof of a Basic disclosure check.
Uploading driver and vehicle details to Tfl
As from 11 July 2016 new and existing operators must email all driver and vehicle details to Tfl.
Record keeping
Extended from 6 months to a year.
Other requirements
Operators must provide their customers with an accurate fare estimate or set price before the journey starts could this stop surge pricing ? Operators must record the main destination before the journey starts.
These new regulations are welcome and far reaching it currently doesn't cover the massive problem with identity fraud the easiest way to address is fingerprinting for every Taxi and PHV driver. Also PHV drivers licensed with EU drivers licenses what would happen if we were to leave the EU? Advanced driving test here in the UK should also be considered.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank Sadiq Khan, Caroline Pigeon and Val shawcross for keeping to their word and address the long overdue reform of the private hire regulations.
Tom Scullion.
Editorial Comment:
Let's get one thing straight. These may have the appearance of new regulations, but it's not new legislation. TfL have always been able to enforce these regulations under existing legislation. But on the watch of Leon Daniels, Garrett Emmerson, John Mason, Peter Blake and Helen Chapman, they just chose not to.
As far as these new regulations are concerned:
• The RMT London Taxi Branch were on this case in 2009, seven years ago but were excluded from the United Trade Group meetings by the LTDA, LCDC and Unite. TfL wouldn't meaningfully engage with any Taxi group or Union outside the UTG.
• The United Cabbies Group have been calling for these changes over the past eighteen month, but again were also excluded from the UTG, even though they were the second largest legitimate Taxi representative group.
After just one meeting with the new deputy mayor, the UCG were able to get the engagement policy torn up. With the new broom sweeping clean, many of the old ways are about to change.
Unfortunately, the implementation of this new batch of regulations come too late for many Taxi drivers, some of whom have lost their vehicles, lost their homes, lost their marriages, with many leaving the trader altogether. We've even had suburban drivers who have been in such a sorry state, they have taken their own lives.
WHY have we had to wait so long under the United Trade Groups's representation, for TfL to do the job our licence fee pays them to do?
It's scandalous.
